It's much nicer than tubular for k1, p1 rib, and is easy and fast to do (once you get it). It stretches as much as the ribbing does. David Xenakis also writes about it in one or two of the Knitter's issues where he was describing double knitting. He calls it tubular CO, which is too bad because it's not tubular CO.
